Better Halves episode 17 recap

Steven told Maggie that even if they can’t afford to matchmaking Law Lok Lam’s nephew (played by Mark Kwok) they still have to do it. Joyce told Steven and Maggie she finds it strange that Mark’s family have never bear children. Steven pretends to be a gay guy and talk to Mark. Mark punched Steven. Mose acted as a man who wants to buy Maggie. Mark punched Mose. Maggie pretends to seduce Mark. Mark looked disgusted. Maggie chased Maggie to the end of the road. As Maggie got closer to Mark, he got scared. Mark told Steven that he trembles everytime he’s with a girl. Mark told Steven and Maggie that he and his friends peeked at his fiancee and the girls when they were children. He got caught and his pants fell down in front of the girls. The girls beat him up. He got scared of girls from then on. Mark said he has been secretly sending love letters to his fiancee under another name. Steven trains Mark by asking Mark to looked at three paintings of the ladies. Auguste disguised into a female and recite a poem to Mark. Steven and Maggie asked Mark to look at his fiancee’s other features besides the mouth when he talks to her.

Maggie and Halina brought Mark’s fiance to Mark. Mark throws her love poem in the air. Mark’s fiance slapped Mark after finding out his real identity. Mark’s fiancee told Maggie and Halina she’s cared of seeing guys after she saw Mark’s pant fell down when they were children. Mark’s fiance saw Steven and his friends lightning up two lanterns at night. Mark helped his fiancee wipe off the fire on her clothes. Mark touched his fiance’s hands and said he loves her since he was seven. Mark’s fiance’s father fought with Mark. Mark fainted. Mark’s fiance pushed a knife toward herself and fainted. Mark’s fiance’s father hugged his daughter and allowed her to marry Mark. Steven and his friends revealed their plan to Mark and his fiance and said they were touched by their love.

Law Lok Lam gave Joyce back her post. Law Lok Lam recognized the jewelry on Cerina that he gave to a baby long ago. Mose bought some medical food for Joyce. Joyce wore the wedding garment and looked at herself in the mirror. Mose went home. Joyce turned of the light and and fought with Mose. Mose watches Joyce’s fan and assumes she’s a girl.

Steven confronts Auguste about saying Joyce and Maggie being a good match. Kenneth Ma tricked people into buying his medicine. Halina exposed his trick. Wow on the last episode I saw Chris Lai as the bodyguard now I see Stephen Wong as a commoner in this episode. lol. A thief pocked money from a guy while there was chaos in the crowed. She put the money inside Helena’s clothe while Mose confronted her. The thief accused Mose of touching her. Helena and Mose fight with each other. Halina happens to be Joyce’s childhood friend. Halina asked Mose to guess the meaning of her painting.

Halina confronted his fiance at a brothel for conning people. He put on drug inside Halina’s drink. Mose saved Halina. Halina asked Joyce to annul the marriage between her and her fiance. Auguste and Cerina got affected by the drugs. Mose exposed Halina’s fiancee of using drug. Mose asked Gordon’s friend to try the bowl of wine in front of Halina’s father. Mose said the drug is mixed with the rice. Mose asked Halina’s fiancee to eat the rice to prove he’s innocent. Halina’s fiancee hesitated. Halina’s fiancee pushed the guards. Joyce twisted her left when the rice bag fell on her. Mose surprisingly saw a fabric in Joyce’s room. Joyce told her mom that she doesn’t need to reveal her identity, and Mose match with Halina.

Maggie’s dad asked Steven to arranged the marriage between Joyce and Maggie. Steven demanded a higher price. Maggie argued with Steven. Steven told Cerina indirectly sometimes she doesn’t need to work hard to like something. He can always tell if he likes something or not. Steven and Maggie argues with each other that they were wrong. Maggie threw a bowl at Steven but it hit Auguste. Cerina told Steven that she got bitten by a snake. Steven told Cerina that he doesn’t like her and won’t like her even if she tries to get him. Steven got bitten by a snake. Cerina suck out the poison for him. Joyce and Maggie sighed that they don’t know how to tell their parents about their marriage. Maggie gave Steven the red envelope. Joyce and Maggie told Mose and Steven that they want a simple wedding. Steven told Maggie he needs to prepare a big wedding for her. Law Lok Lam paid Steven, Maggie, and Joyce five hundred golds and asked them to matchmaking for him.

Bobby and Mandy demanded Lo Sut to pay an extra thousand dollars. Esther tries to stop Bobby’s men from ruining her restaurant. When a gangster threw an axe at Esther, Bobby suddenly grabbed Esther. Mandy had a dream that Bobby saved Esther under the rock before he saved her. Esther’s men beat up Pierre and hurt Bobby’s maid. Bobby framed Esther of hiding cocaine in her food stall. The cops hung Esther and made her admit her crime. Esther spit at Sammy. Sammy throw a bucket of water at Esther. The cops turn on the fan. Esther asked Bobby if he remembers what he told her. Bobby pushed Esther back and forth. Pierre told Bobby he’s too much. Bobby got a headache. Mandy asked Esther to give her the book of Fook Lung then she will set her men free. Esther told Bobby she won’t be mad at how he treats her because he knows that’s not his personality.Esther gave Derek and Mandy the name list.

Pierre won the boxing match again but got injured badly. Rebecca complained to Pierre that two hundred dollars is not enough. Rebecca asked Pierre to ask Bobby for money but Pierre refused. Sammy gave Rebecca some money. Pierre held a bouquet of red roses and saw Sammy flirting with Rebecca. Rebecca told Pierre she will earn more money gambling with Sammy. Pierre asked Sammy to leave Rebecca alone.

Bobby a pair of slippers for Mandy. Bobby danced with Mandy. Esther remade her restaurant sign name as “Phoenix rise”. Esther made soybean milk with her siblings. Mandy and the cops threw snakes to a family who can’t pay their debt. Derek dumped ashes in the bowl of soymilk. Lo Sut threw the bowl of soy milk on Esther’s shirt. Derek and his men ruined Esther’s restaurant. Esther took a glass and held it toward Derek’s neck.

Maggie told Steven and Cerina they are fated to be with each other. Maggie asked Steven to fly the kite with Cerina. Joyce’s stepmother wants Joyce to find a girlfriend. Mose told Joyce it’s time for her to find a girlfriend. Maggie and Joyce matchmaking for their clients. Mose suggest his colleagues to share responsibilities instead of everyone taking the same task. Steven sit at a food stall waiting for Maggie but saw Cerina instead. Steven pretends to have stomach ache to leave but Cerina was willing to help him. Maggie came and saw Steven walking with Cerina. Steven told Maggie what she sees may not be the reality. Mose and his friends watch the beautiful seven colored rock in the sky. Mose gave Joyce two different types of rocks. Joyce told Mose they can’t be together. Steven confront a seller of selling fake pair of rocks. A kid gave Steven a real pair of seven colored rocks. Steven wanted to give the rock to Maggie but Cerina accidentally picked it up. Everyone misunderstood Steven and Cerina dating. Maggie told Steven she will matchmaker Cerina and him. Steven told Mose he gave the rock to the wrong woman.

Steven brought Mose to a brothel to find a girl. Mose grabbed a guy and thought he was Joyce. Joyce and Maggie sadly eat desert. Joyce and Maggie drunkenly tried the wedding accessories. Joyce and Maggie sleep together.Maggie was about to pinch Joyce thinking that she raped her. Joyce told Maggie that she’s a girl. Steven mistakenly thinks that Joyce and Maggie had an affair. Joyce and Maggie can tell who does each other likes. Mose told Steven he trusts Joyce. Steven worries that there’s something between Maggie and Joyce. Mose asked Steven if he fell in love with Maggie. Mose and Steven peeked at Joyce and Maggie walking by the stream. Steven held Mose hand to make Maggie mad.

Better Halves episode 14 recap

Gordon’s friend close down Steven and Maggie’s matchmaking firm. Steven and Maggie ate buns in jail. Steven happily teaches Maggie how to eat a bun. Steven told Maggie he rather be optimist than upset. Steven believes Mose and Joyce will find a way to save them. Ooh Chris Lai as one of the guard in this drama. At the court, Mose and Joyce told Gordon that during Winnie’s wedding, people used other animals instead of chicken to celebrate the wedding. This is against the wedding tradition so Winnie is not a widow. Gordon ordered the guards to give Mose forty spank. Gordon’s friend throw some food to Steven and Maggie in jail. Steven and Maggie mocked Gordon’s friend of being a dog. Maggie saw Steven’s arm full of mosquito bites. Steven told Maggie they have been separated with each other many times but now they are back together again. Steven and Maggie watch the sunset.

Mose and Joyce told Gordon at the court that Winnie haven’t reached three year of wedding anniversary so she can’t be consider widow. Steven and Maggie got released. Maggie dressed up to hang out with Steven. Steven praised Maggie of looking beautiful. Mose and Joyce asked to go to the temple with Steven and Maggie. Steven, Maggie, Mose, and Joyce thought of ways to matchmaking couples younger than forty. At the temple, Steven and Maggie told the Buddha that they keep thinking of each other. Steven wrote a love poem on his kite and hope that Maggie will catch it. Maggie happily watch Steven fly the kite at the mountain. Unfortunately Cerina caught the kite. Cerina read the love poem on the kite and asked if he meant to give it to her.

Steven teased Maggie’s father of wanting to matchmaking Maggie and Joyce. Maggie’s father told Steven that Joyce is smarter than him. I so love watching Auguste and Cerina together. Auguste told Cerina that Mose likes her. Cerina gave Mose her spicy buns. Cerina told Mose that they have different tastes. Cerina told Mose that she won’t understand his poems. Cerina announced to her friends that she and Mose has become brother and sister. Joyce plans to dig a hole for Gordon to fall down. Winnie will seduce Gordon to stamp the document to confirmed she’s single . In reality, Steven, Maggie, and Auguste surprisingly didn’t see Gordon fell down the hole. On the other hand, he did fall for Winnie. Gordon agreed to put the stamp on the document. Gordon’s friend told Gordon that he saw Steven and Maggie buying plenty of gifts. Gordon arrested Evergreen Mak and Winnie. Maggie and Steven told Gordon that Evergreen Mak and Winnie are allowed to get married since he already stamped the document. A doctor said that Winnie is pregnant with Evergreen Mak after she married her husband. Winnie refused to do a pregnancy check. Winnie bumped her head on the pole and fainted.

Steven and Maggie found out that Winnie had been raped by some robbers a few years ago and got pregnant. Evergreen Mak then took care of her. Mose, Steven, Maggie, and Joyce begged Law Lok Lam to help them with the case. Mose showed Gordon two different prescription papers. Mose said that the doctor recently wrote one of the prescription for Winnie recently. Mose said that the doctor prescribed the medicine to two different females and mixed with each other a few years ago. He recently wrote a new prescription to frame Winnie with Evergreen Mak. Steven and Maggie celebrate with their friends about winning the case. Gordon’s friend came and arrested Steven and Maggie for forcing Winnie the widow to marry Evergreen Mak.

Hey guys! I’m lazy to recap this drama so I’m going to talk bit and pieces of the scenes I like. 🙂

Ruco and Edwin finally escaped from China to Hongkong. Ruco ran with Edwin when the taxi driver asked for their ID. Edwin got caught by the taxi driver for leaving without paying. Ruco waited for Edwin to get into the immigration department but didn’t see him so he registered ahead. When Edwin arrived at the immigration department, it was too late. Ruco saw bruises on Edwin’s arm. Ruco’s mom yelled at Ruco for sneaking to HK with Edwin. Ruco’s mom asked Ruco to return to China with her.

Always and Ever episode 22 recap

Mandy told Esther that Bobby bought roses for her, that’s how she realize that he likes her. Mandy told Esther she’s using Bobby to revenge her for causing her not being able to win the Oriental Princess title. Flashbacks of Mandy lied to Bobby that she is his girlfriend. Esther tries to convince Mandy to leave Bobby alone. Mandy accused Esther of having an affair with Bobby behind Vincent. Ether slapped Mandy and Bobby happens to come by. Mandy pretends to be innocent. Mandy pretends to beg Esther to allow her being with Bobby. It must have hurt Esther for hearing Bobby saying “I could arrest you for slapping your sister.” Mandy told Bobby that he was the one who instructed Derek to kill Vincent. Mandy told Bobby that Esther wants to be close to him to revenge for her husband. Bobby gave Mandy permission to collect fees. Bobby told his subordinates they need to be like Mandy.

Bobby asked Pierre how come he doesn’t have any feelings for Mandy if she is his girlfriend. Bobby asked Pierre that Mandy said Esther is evil but he doesn’t feel it. Esther sighed to the tortoise that she miss Bobby. Rebecca gambled and blamed Pierre for causing her to lose. Pierre gave the debt owner his gun for liability. The debt owner told Pierre if he can’t repay Rebecca’s debt in three days, he will make her a prostitute. Pierre entered a boxing match to earn money. Pierre got beaten really bad in the three rounds but he managed to win. Pierre gave Rebecca some money. Esther supports Pierre to win Rebecca’s heart.

Mandy and the cops collect people’s debt. Mandy lied to Bobby that she couldn’t collect people’s debt cause the cops asked her to collect it alone. Mandy told Bobby he used to force people to give him money. Mandy told Bobby to be fierce. Bobby’s boss ordered the other cop to collect the fees. Bobby pointed his gun toward the cop. Bobby criticizes his boss.

Steven tested Mose by trying to kiss him. Mose punched Steven. Steven told Mose he only cares for Joyce as his brother. Mose teaches Cerina some sword techniques. An old lady accused Steven of stealing her comb. The old lady’s son played by Evergreen Mak said the come belongs to his dad so his mom cherish it a lot. Steven and Maggie tasted the desert in Evergreen Mak’s restaurant and found it delicious. Steven had a dream of being hit by Maggie after marrying her. Then Maggie had a dream of Steven bossing her around. Steven and Maggie tried the wedding accessories for fun.

Mose and Joyce came to eat at Evergreen Mak’s restaurant and saw how Evergreen Mak asked his worker to not let anyone being starved. Gordon becomes the new matchmaker replacing Joyce. Steven, Maggie, and Joyce argues with Gordon about Winnie is able to take over Evergreen Mak’s restaurant since she’s the second wife. Gordon said Winnie is not the official wife of Evergreen Mak so she can’t take Evergreen Mak’s assets. Joyce debate about the wedding standards with Gordon causing him to lose his face. Joyce’s three brothers played mahjong with Gordon and lost three thousand golds. Joyce exchanged her house for the life of her three brothers. Joyce took her house billboard and told Gordon someday she will regain her family status. Steven and Maggie happily announced to the people they invite Joyce to work for them.
