Chen Long’s uncle threw water on Chen Long told him he killed his grandpa. Chen Long got mad and untie himself using his power. Chen Long runs in the woods crazily. Phyllis and her parents, and Christopher’s master saw Liu Piao Piao crawling on the street. Athena’s mother apologized to Liu Piao Piao. Sun Xing barge in Chen Long’s father’s room. Sun Xing demanded Chen Long’s father to remove the poison out of Athena’s body. Athena cried and pushed Sun Xing and refuses to admit Sun Xing as her father. Sun Xing punched Chen Long’s father in the woods. Athena told Sun Xing he is a vicious creature. Sun Xing told Chen Long’s father she isn’t a match to fight with him for Athena’s aunt. Chen Long’s father laughed and said he caused Sun Xing to be miserable. When Chen Long is injured terribly, Athena’s stomach hurt so bad. Chilam generates energy for Athena. Chen Long punched Athena and Chilam. Chen Long punched Christopher. Sun Xing fought with Chen long and they both got hurt. Sun Xing told Athena and Chilam he will try his best to cure them. Before Chen Long’s father passed away, he asked Chen Long to kill them for him. Before Sun Xing passed away, he asked Athena to look at him. Athena asked Sun Xing if he has ever loved her mother. Sun Xing told Chilam he never dared to kill him because of his innocent look. Sun Xing asked Chilam to take good care of Athena. Chilam uses Ru Lai Shen Zhang tenth step and won the duel. Chilam and Athena brought Chen Long to the temple. The monk told Chilam that the martial arts is neither good nor evil, it depends on how the people use it. Phyllis asked Christopher if he would still be with him if she turns ugly. Chen Long’s father got a stomach ache and told Chen Long he won’t live any longer. Chen Long’s father said he tested his medicine for Phyllis and got sick and said he can only live for one more year. Chen Long’s father told Chen Long he wants to see him defeat Sun Xing and give birth to a grandchild for him. Chilam practices the seven and eight steps in Ru Lai Shen Zhang. Athena and his friends came and meet with Liu Piao Piao in the woods. Liu Piao Piao took Athena away. As Liu Piao Piao brushes Athena’s hair, Athena held Liu Piao Piao’s hands and said she doesn’t believe she doesn’t have any love for her. Christopher’s master asked Sun Xing to kill the nun. The elder lady, whom Christopher and Phyllis encountered, arrived and took off her fake mustache, and apologized for mistaken him for killing his grandpa due to rumors. She admits she accused Sun Xing of stealing Ru Lai Shen Zhang novel and uses Athena’s aunt to fight against him. She said she got tricked by Chen Long’s father. She asked Sun Xing if he remembered a child who used to bring medicine to Emei Sect. Flashbacks of Chen Long’s father peeking at Athena’s aunt. Sun Xing arrived in front of Athena’s aunt and said he falls for her at first sight. Sun Xing flirted with Athena. Chen Long’s father used some wooden sticks and hit Sun Xing behind his back. The elder lady told Sun Xing that he used to criticize Chen Long’s father. Chen Long’s father is selfish and took it to heart. Chen Long’s father massaged Athena’s leg. Sun Xing pushed Chen Long’s father and called him ugly.Athena told Sun Xing she likes Chen Long’s father. Sun Xing told Chen Long’s father “Hey ugly face, Sun Ling only use you to drive me away, you better hide in the forest or I will scratch the other half of your face. You are ugly and weak, what’s the point of living. If I were you, I would die”. Christopher’s master released the two nuns and gave him a list of hundred prisoners he wanted to be released. Chilam questioned where is Athena’s father. Chen Long’s uncle said he died from aging. Sun Xing told Chilam that Chen Long’s father is selfish and couldn’t win Athena aunt’s heart so he revenged. Chen Long asked Sun Xing why does he keep on revenging instead of letting go. Christopher asked his master if the leader of Emei sect is the illegitimate daughter of Athena’s master. Chen Long’s uncle is anxious that Chen Long might be able to kill him. Christopher and his father visits a the sect leader of Emei. Phyllis and Christopher fought with the Emei sect. A nun begged Sun Xing to forgive the leader of the Emei Sect. Christopher, his master, and Phyllis visit Sun Xing. Christopher’s master deals with Sun Xing to allow the Emei sect to his sect. Christopher’s master told Sun Xing he has his own sect but he couldn’t find out who killed his wife. Sun Xing. Christopher teased Chen Long’s uncle about not knowing where Athena’s father was locked. Chen Long is impulsive to practice the martial art. Chen Long’s father threw up blood and hope Chen Long can defeat Sun Xing before he dies. Athena’s mother stared at the prisoners in the dungeon and asked the guard where is her husband. Phyllis reunites with her mother and refuses to look at Athena. Chilam begged Sun Xing to release Athena’s father. Sun Xing rejected the request afraid Chilam will beg him release everyone. Chilam asked Sun Xing to eliminate his Ru Lai Shen Zhang with his life. Sun Xing asked Chilam to try to defeat him. Sun Xing teaches Chilam the next step in Ru Lai Shen Zhang. Sun Xing told Chilam he’s the first one he teaches Ru Lai Shen Zhang. Chilam asked Sun Xing to eleminate his martial art. Sun Xing got angry and eliminates Chilam’s Ru Lai Shen Zhang. Chilam and his friends reunites with Athena’s mother. Christopher and his friends arrived at Sun Xing’s place. Athena’s mother told her husband she was worried about him and she promised she will always be with him. Christopher’s master announced that the previous leader of Emei Sect killed Sun Xing’ wife. Christopher’s master said Sun Xing will kill her and will let them drink her blood.

Ru Lai Shen Zhang episode 38 recap

Liu Piao Piao showed Athena the flute in the box and told her that Chen Long’s father still wants her to be his daughter in law, and he hopes she will break ties with Chilam. Chilam looked at the flute and begged Chen Long to persuade his father to stop. As Chen Long’s father played the tune, Chen Long stepped on the flute. Chen Long asked his father why did he set up him with Athena. Chen Long’s father explained to Chen Long he married his mother because of her looks and brain and he wanted a smart and good looking son. He said he believes Chen Long can be the top martial artist. Chen Long’s father gives Chen Long two options which is to beat Sun Xing or return the book to Chilam’s master and have him kill him. Chen Long stared at the tree and yelled. Chen Long demanded his father for the book. In the dungeon, Chen Long put some needles on Chilam’s master. Chen Long prevented Liu Piao Piao from putting needle on Chilam’s godsister. Chilam’s master said he rather die than give the book to Chen Long’s father. Athena and Chilam saw Chen Long’s father’s bottle in the grass. Chen Long’s father gave Chen Long a pill to have more energy to kill Chilam’s master. Chen Long pressed Chilam’s father’s finger and asked him where’s the book. Chen Long hugged Chilam’s godsister and wants to rape her. Chilam’s master said he burnt the book but he rewritten Tian Can Shen Gong and hid it in his wife’s hairpin. At home, Chilam’s godsister gave Chen Long the hairpin. Chen Lon told Chilam he only makes fun of how weak he is. Chilam’s master tried to beat Chen Long’s father but he fell. Chen Long said it is his karma for trying to kill his son. Chilam’s godsister and Chilam came and saw him die. Chen Long’s father told Athena that her mother is selfish for not taking care of her while he only cares about promoting his son. Chilam’s master asked Chilam to generate energy so he can rewrite the Tian Can Shen Gong. Athena’s mother recognize that the moves he wrote isn’t a type of martial art and he wants them to practice it to turn crazy.

Ru Lai Shen Zhang episode 37 recap

These Wuxia Series with little CGI were the type of series I grew up with so I’m biased toward this genre. Ru Lai Shen Zhang is a good example of a good Wuxia Series with good casts. 🙂

Chen Long plays the flute and Athena got a stomach ache, for failing to make Chen Long fall for her. Chen Long’s father warned Athena whenever she fails to try to attract Chen Long, he will play this flute three times each day. Chilam punched Chen Long’s father. Chen Long took the punch for his father and asked Chilam not to kill his father. Chen Long fought with Chilam. Chilam demanded Chen Long’s father to remove the poison from Athena. Athena asked them to stop fighting and said she was willing to take the poison for her sister. The next morning Christopher and Phyllis found the body of the old lady in the house. Chen Long told Chilam’s godsister to not put herself lowly to be with him. Chen Long left the house and encountered Chilam’s master. They fought together. Chen Long fell in the sea. Phyllis told Christopher she doubts when they are going to get killed. Christopher told Phyllis someday she will like his chatty personality. Chilam’s godsister took care of Chen Long. Chen Long pushed her and wants to leave. Chilam’s master asked Chen Long to step up and hang out with his daughter. Christopher hangs out with Phyllis and saw his master. Christopher’s master blow up the grave and Christopher and Phyllis didn’t see the old lady’s body. Christopher’s master told them they’ve been fooled by the old lady fake death. She fakes her dead each time she moves to a new place. Athena told Chilam’s master she hopes he discusses about Tian Can Shen Gong moves with Chilam to stop Sun Xing. Chilam’s master refuses to lend the book. A construction worker accidentally spilled a bucket of water on Chilam’s god sister. Chilam’s master got angry and yelled. Chilam’s master and his daughter fainted after drinking water from the sea. Athena got a stomach ache again. Chilam uses Ru Lai Shen Zhang to stop the cycle.

Ru Lai Shen Zhang episode 36 recap

Chen Long’s father accomplished in removing the scar on Liu Piao Piao’s face but he told her that it is only halfway done. Chen Long’s father said she has to visit him so he can give her the medication to treat her face each year. Christopher and Phyllis saw Liu Pao Pao leave the house without the scar on her face and doubt what happened. Christopher Lee and Chen Long Christopher told Phyllis they should follow Liu Piao Piao together. Chen Long keeps himself busy healing the bird for Chilam’s godsister and ignores Athena. Athena saw Chilam taking to his master. Athena asked Chilam why does he come back. Athena yelled at Chilam that she doesn’t know what he told Chen Long which makes him leaving her. Chilam swears he has never badmouthed Athena. Athena told Chilam he doesn’t need to pretends. Athena asked Chilam to leave for her own good. Athena said Chilam can’t have her so he doesn’t want Chen Long to be with her. Chilam told Athena he knows what he’s doing and he swears he is not focusing on love. Liu Piao Piao fought with an old lady. Christopher interfere and fought with Liu Piao Piao. Phyllis Quek wants to scratch Liu Piao Piao’s face with a knife. Christopher prevented Phyllis and said revenge will lead to cycle. Chilam’s master punched Chen Long for saying the leader of the sect needs to care for the lives of his disciples. Phyllis light the fire on Liu Piao Piao’s chain and got pissed she didn’t get scared. Liu Piao Piao asked Phyllis to kill her then she can reunite with her lover. Christopher told Phyllis her grieve is not as much as Liu Piao Piao. Christopher asked Phyllis if she thinks Chilam’s master is a hero if he defeats Sun Xing. Then they will have someone else stronger to defeat Chilam’s master then the revenge cycle continues. Christopher asked Liu Piao Piao if she felt good when she hurted Athena’s mother and ruin Phyllis’s face. Christopher said a person who lives in hatred never feels happy. Christopher releases Liu Piao Piao. Chen Long drinks and asked Chilam why do they have to listen to his master. Chen Long asked Chilam how good is his master compared to Sun Xing. Chen Long wants to see how Chilam can persuade Sun Xing to stop his revenge. Christopher and Phyllis watches the old lady leaving her house. Chen Long told Chilam everyone thinks he is a coward and only try to please the sect leader. Chilam and Chen Long saw Athena. Athena got a stomach ache and meet with Chen Long’s father in the woods. Flashbacks of Chen Long’s father deals with Athena that if she is willing to marry Chen Long, he will cure Phyllis’s scar. Athena agreed with the request and help Chen Long become the sect leader.

The bodyguard told Chilam’s master that the master of a sect not only needs the skill but also a heart which he doesn’t has. Chilam’s master beat up the bodyguard. Chilam told his master that a sect wants to use his daughter to give the book. Chilam told his master he needs to collaborate with his sect to defeat Sun Xing. Chilam’s master told Athena and Chen Long he will cooperate with them to get rid of Sun Xing. Chilam’s master asked Chilam to stay by him to prevent him from listening to the wrong people. Chilam’s godsister admired Chen Long. Chilam’s master wants Chen Long to be his daughter’s bodyguard. Chen Long rejects the request. Chilam’s master beat up Chen Long and asked him to be his daughter’s bodyguard or crawl under him. Chilam’s goddaughter arrived. Chilam’s master called Chen Long useless. Christopher and Chen Long saw Liu Piao Piao passed by the restaurant. Chen Long’s father gave Liu Piao Piao a sum of money and demanded her to let him heal her face. Chen Long practice martial arts and got possessed. Chilam punched Chen Long. Liu Piao Piao feels aching when Chen Long’s father put the cream on her face. Chilam is willing to lose to Chen Long. Chilam wishes Athena happiness with Chen Long. Chen Long told Athena that he only focuses on practicing martial art since he was a child. He barely has any friends. Chilam is his best friend and he won’t steal his girlfriend. Chen Long ate Chilam’s godsister’s dumpling and went finishing with her.

Ru Lai Shen Zhang episode 34 recap

I love how this series has so many great casts: Chilam Cheung, Athena Chu, Christopher Lee, Chen Long, Phyllis Quek, and Sun Xing.

Phyllis asked Chen Long to marry her instead of Athena. Chen Long refuses to marry Phyllis since she doesn’t love him. Phyllis fought with Chen Long. Chen Long uses Ru Lai Shen Zhang on her. Phyllis got mad that Chilam taught Chen Long the skills. Athena told Phyllis that when she was poisoned, Chilam did teach her Ru Lai Shen Zhang moves. Phyllis told Athena that Chen Long is only using her and will leave her after he reaches his goal. Athena slapped Phyllis and asked her to apologize to Chen Long. Athena told Phyllis to leave with Chilam. Phyllis told Athena she is not the master of this house and she is only an illegitimate daughter of Sun Xing. Chilam told Athena and Phyllis he’s the one who should leave. As Chilam leaves, Athena told Phyllis to look after him. Chilam told Phyllis he only want to focus on changing Sun Xing from evil to good. Chilam asked Phyllis not to mention about Athena’s background. Athena believes that Chen Long can defeat Chilam’s master with his brain. Chilam found Christopher and his master by the harbor. Christopher told Chilam that he should be helping Athena instead of going back to his home. A restaurant servant asked Christopher to pay 3,000 taels for a drink and two buns. Christopher told the waiter that Chilam’s master is a hypocrite. Christopher said at least Sun Xing admits he’s a demon. Christopher’s master used power on the waiter and his sect. Athena’s mother asked Athena how come her relationship with her sister has become this way. Athena said Phyllis can’t insult Chen Long. He is the only one who can help her. Phyllis packed her stuff and told her mother she wants to search for Chilam. Christopher saw Phyllis. Phyllis told Chen Long that Athena has left Chilam and only thinks about Chen Long. The servant brought the food to Chen Long. As Chen Long is about to taste his favorite food, Christopher barge in his room and fought with him. Chen Long is about to use Ru Lai Shen Zhang. Phyllis taught Christopher some moves. Christopher’s master interfered between Chen Long and Christopher. Athena threw papers for her master’s funeral. Christopher asked Phyllis if she did want to suicide for Chilam. Christopher’s master wants to search for Athena’s mother’s master. Christopher’s master told Christopher to leave with Phyllis. Chilam’s master came. Chilam’s master used power to break the ground. Christopher told the waiter that he was the one who badmouthed Chilam’s master and now he accused him. Christopher praised Chilam’s master of being a hero. Christopher told Chilam’s master that the waiter told him that he’s allowed to steal his money since he stole the book. Christopher asked the waiter if he wants to use Chilam’s master to get rid of him. Christopher said two buns and one bottle of wine cost three thousand taels and he must have bribed. Chilam’s master punchecd the waiter. Christopher told Chilam’s master that’s why others consider him as a demon instead of the leader of a sect. Chilam’s master arrived in Athena’s house and announced he will let Christopher handle all the matters in her house.

I’m feeling burned out by recapping The Ultimate Addiction. Will recap this series for today. This series is kinda boring but I like Athena Chu, Chen Long, and Christopher Lee.

Phyllis apologized to her mother to make her mad earlier. Phyllis sighed she doesn’t know how to face Athena. Chilam’s master slapped Chilam for accusing him of stealing the book. He punched Chilam. Phyllis found Chilam. Athena told Chen Long that Chilam deserves to be punch to wake up. Chen Long feels Athena is a bit harsh on Chilam. Athena told Chen Long she’s not jealous of Chilam. Athena said she loves Chilam but she finds him has no goals in life. Athena told Chen Long she told him about her burden because she considers him as a best friend. Athena said she and Chilam has two different views. The bodyguard confronts Chilam’s master for taking Athena’s house. Athena bowed in front of Chilam’s master to ask for forgiveness of the bodyguard. Chilam’s godsister is mad at her father for stealing the book. She asked her father to return the book and quit the sect leader position. Chilam’s master slapped her. Phyllis apologized to Athena. Athena told Phyllis she can have Chilam if she wants. Athena told Phyllis to leave the room. Athena told Phyllis to leave with Chilam for her own good. Athena asked her mother if she is wrong for letting Phyllis be with Chilam. Athena said Phyllis is her sister, and she finds Chilam kinda dumb. Athena told her mother she is happy for Phyllis and Chilam. Athena said Chen Long is better than Chilam. Chilam saw the conversation between Athena’s mother and Athena. Athena told her mother she doesn’t have feelings for Chilam anymore. A man told Christopher and his master that Chen Long lost the fight to the new sect leader. Athena got a stomach ache and asked her mother not to worry. Athena hopes Phyllis will be with Chilam. Chilam told Phyllis he respects Athena’s decision of liking Chen Long.
